Doll Launches
Mattel has unveiled its first autistic Barbie doll and the first Barbie doll with Type 1 Diabetes, created to support representation, understanding, and inclusion through play. The releases marks a significant milestone for the Barbie brand, expanding how children see themselves and others reflected in toys, and locally, we partnered with autism advocate, TV presenter, Actor and podcast host, Nandi Madida and her six-year-old daughter on the autistic doll, as well as multi-award winning singer Holly Rey and 11-year-old Diabetes Advocate Sayuri Sewsunker to launch the first Barbie doll with Type 1 Diabetes.
Campaign Results
The launches gained an incredible amount of coverage with over 125 broadcast clippings across radio and TV, 165 digital clippings and 30 pieces of print coverage and over 45 Social media posts through impeccable media relations which secured the brand more than 319 Million + Reach.
